08:51 am - Eastern Promises Saw this film at a friend's home on Saturday and LOVED IT. Viggo deserves an Oscar--it was so unlike any other role he's ever played--you forgot that it was an actor! Was very moving, fast paced, emotional, violent, emotionally violent, kept you guessing till the very end and the Russian language and accents were top notch. 09:15 am - Catch and Release I had the pleasure of attending an advance screening of the film "Catch and Release" last night. It is wierd seeing movies before the critics start reviewing them. You get to read my opinions without my having heard about this film from anyone by my darling husband who saw it with me. I will start with this: This was one of the most uplifting movies about death I've ever seen. You realize about halfway through that it is not about death, but about learning to live, the fact that you can never know everything about someone, even your closest friend and the fact that there are few real bad guys or gals in the world...most people are just trying to do what they need to do with what they have. 01:12 pm I won free passes from The Onion to see a special sneak peek of "Catch and Release" tonight...this is the 2nd thing I have won from their community newsletter in 3 months. AND I NEVER WIN ANYTHING! Wow...of course this is the movie my sister wanted to see this weekend.
