User Profile

There's not much to say. I am a 30 year old grant administrator for a progressive women's health non-profit. I spend my days writing (truly my calling) and talking to people about a cause I so deeply believe in---this is pretty much my dream job.

I have done just about everything in the non-profit sector: direct social services, community education (financial, business, environmental and health), program management, small business and cooperative consulting, event planning, grassroots organizing, grants administration...and now my goal is to learn everything I can about funds development so I can someday be my own boss.

I am very politically active, but find myself getting disillusioned with the current state of affairs in our state and our country. I am a tireless supporter of human rights, women's rights, the peace movement and the effort to protect our environment.

We own our own home, so that should be my only hobby. I am a feminist, a Socialist and an identical twin (not that these things have anything to do with each other). I would eventually like to own a Bed and Breakfast (a cool one, like on Gilmore Girls, not a scary one)...either that or a Bush-free commune on a private island in the Caribbean.;)

I have lived in Europe (I studied conflict resoluntion and negotiation in the Netherlands), Togo, West Africa (I was a Peace Corps volunteer), and D.C. (I worked for a U.S. Senator), but I always seem to come back to the midwest. Right now, at the end of the longest winter known to man and woman kind, I feel like a warmer clime is in our future---perhaps Portland, OR, which has the best of both worlds.
